Shaboozey Returns Home to Nashville With His Biggest Headline Show to Date

Fresh off of the release of his fourth studio album, The Outlaw Cherie Lee & Other Western Tales, Shaboozey is ready to take the next step. He’s already a few dates into his extensive headline tour, but his return to Nashville, the city he now calls his home, is his biggest headline show to date. Ascend Amphitheater is nearly twice the size of The Pinnacle where he last played, a sizeable jump for an artist on the rise.
Fans were greeted by a dramatic opening video as Shaboozey’s backing band lays the groundwork for his grand entrance. Lifting the curtain, Shaboozey enters Music City with “Til Sunday,” one of the opening tracks from the new album. It is dark and mysterious, with Shaboozey cast in deep red light. He is captivating here, taking full command of the stage as he shifts from end to end, never leaving any single part of the audience unattended for too long.
Shaboozey’s follow up, “High Noon,” also happens to be his latest single, another cut from the new album that just received a music video the day of the show. While missing its feature from Gunna, “High Noon” still highlights the excellent job Shaboozey has done at blending contemporary country and rap music. It’s a subgenre that has garnered a lot of attention in recent years, with crossover hits from Lil Nas X, Jelly Roll, Post Malone, and BigXthaPlug hitting the mainstream. Yet, Shaboozey remains one of one. He’s not a rapper turned country artist like Post, he’s not tiptoeing around the genre like BigX, and he's fully been embraced by Nashville unlike Lil Nas. It is a fine line to walk, pull too hard to one side and you’ll be cast off by the other, many acts have been. Shaboozey on the other hand has seen support not just from the fans, as evidenced by the massive draw at Ascend, but also from the industry fueling country music.

Rounding out his first three songs with “Drink Don’t Need No Mix,” a single from his 2025 breakthrough Where I’ve Been, Isn’t Where I’m Going, Shaboozey has no problem keeping the energy alive. Marked by bass heavy trap beats and sparce acoustic guitar, “Drink Don’t Need No Mix” carries a mellow carefree attitude. Once again Shaboozey has no problem entertaining the audience, with the crowd falling in and singing along with no need for direction.

Shaboozey is just plain fun, there is no other way to put it. He is such an excellent entertainer, from start to finish he managed to keep the crowd fully engaged and on their feet. For an act still looking to establish themselves in the zeitgeist, especially during their biggest headline show to date, this is incredibly impressive and more than what you could possibly ask for. I’d expect Shaboozey to keep trending upwards, especially with Nashville backing him at both the fan and industry level.
