Maddie is a Birmingham, AL based writer, photographer, and music-media enthusiast. Co-Founder and Editor-in-Chief of the magazine, she is passionate about telling thoughtful stories centered on art and the people who create it. Maddie has taken the reigns to expand Pretty Nifty’s scope, pushing the magazine towards film, stage, and other creative outlets. Her work is driven by a love for live music, digital media, and honest conversation.

Dylan Basden

Hailing from Central Alabama, Dylan cut his teeth as a photographer and writer during college in Auburn, AL. Tackling DIY house shows, festivals, and hundreds of concerts across the Southeast, he built up a large portfolio across a half dozen publications. Now based in Nashville, TN, Dylan has shifted his focus towards running his own publication, aiming to not only elevate the music and art he loves, but to also provide opportunities for his fellow creators.
