Denzel Curry Leaves Everything On The Table.

Out on the road alongside Knocked Loose for their “Hive Mind” tour, Denzel Curry is at the top of his game in every regard; his beats are the best produced they’ve ever been, his flow unstoppable, and his performances are insatiable. Fresh off the release of his latest studio album Strictly 4 The Scythe (as well as his collaborative project with Kenny Beats, ii), Denzel is looking to curry favor with some of hardcore’s most die had fans. Taking its name from their collaborative single, the “Hive Mind” tour sees Curry team up with Knocked Loose, one of the highest regarded bands in punk and hardcore, to cross pollinate his distinct genre-bending flavor of trap, punk rap, and hardcore hip-hop.

Denzel comes out swinging on “HIT THE FLOOR,” a track from 2024’s KING OF THE MISCHIEVOUS SOUTH. While Curry may draw from the same southern flows and trap beats that inspired Isaiah Rashad’s take on Dirty South, Denzel Curry is all teeth with his performance. Curry is electrifying on the mic, taking immediate control of the crowd as he directs them to follow the song’s namesake. It’s a bold opening gambit, while the “Hive Mind” tour is a co-headline, the audience did appear to heavily favor the hardcore bands on the lineup. Despite this, Denzel had no problem getting the crowd rolling early on; unleashing wave after wave of crowd surfers as well as opening up a volatile pit eager for a reason to throw down.

“Walkin” came around the middle of Denzel’s set and it was clear the MC was deep in his pocket. Preceded by a blistering 20+ minutes of nonstop momentum, “Walkin” felt like the lone breath of air during the set and even then, it was nothing but exhilarating. Anchored by lush backing vocals and snappy percussion, Curry’s flow shifts into something more melodic, drawing on elements of boom-bap while still maintaining his signature southern flair.  Denzel is so casually charismatic here, delivering bar after bar with such swagger. While his rage-driven hardcore hip-hop sound is a core component of who he is, Denzel is also widely regarded as a conscious hip-hop act and his penmanship is some of the best in the game.

Denzel Curry ended his set in one of the best ways imaginable: a spiraling melody of Rage Against the Machine’s “Killing In The Name” and “Bulls on Parade.” While often overlooked, hardcore punk and hip-hop have long co-existed as a Venn diagram (a narrow one at that) with the two genres having been at the forefront of almost every political movement in America dating back to their inception in the 70’s. The two genres would soon see their paths crossed, with Rage Against the Machine being one of the early adopters of the rap-rock crossover. Curry, himself riding the line between rap and hardcore, feels overtly adept to take on the double feature; his ability to maintain a tight flow even between screams is an astounding display of vocal capability. Denzel was truly phenomenal here, not only delivering the scathing ferocity of the songs with ease but also managing their larger breadth without compromise. His engagement with the crowd also continued to peak, most notably when he dove into the mosh pit to surf along the crowd. It was an all-around stellar end to an incredible set and the perfect tee up for the band set to follow.

The “Hive Mind” tour rolls on through the Midwest, West Coast, and Mountain West before capping off in Mexico. While Denzel’s run with Knocked Loose is quickly coming to an end, I’d expect a fresh set of tour dates from the Miami native sooner rather than later.

Denzel Curry might just be the most action-packed performer you’ll see in 2026. His performance was a nonstop full-throttle experience, with the South Florida rapper not lifting his foot off the gas even once across his entire set. If you are a fan of rage and punk styles of rap, Curry is a must-see show. For fans of Knocked Loose and other hardcore bands weary to venture out into the hip-hop realm, Denzel might just be the one to shift your perspective. Rarely have I ever seen so much buy-in from a crowd than during Denzel’s set, a task ten-times more difficult when trying to bridge the genre gap, yet Curry managed to make it work without missing a beat. I cannot recommend seeing Denzel Curry strongly enough.
