Chelsea Wolfe Brings Darkness To Nashville
Although she has long captivated audiences, this latest chapter of Chelsea Wolfe’s career feels newly spell binding and more timely than ever. Her work on this earth continues as she transmutes experience into sound with softness delivered alongside the accompanying sharp sword. The way her haunting vocals wrap, float, and dance around and through her music is nothing less than iconic. She brings it all with her in her latest album release, 2026’s The Dark.
Primal wisdom through song. That is an evening with Chelsea Wolfe. In support of The Dark, the singer brought her tour to Marathon Music Works (Nashville, TN) on Wednesday, October 16th, and so soothed the midweek terrors. Chelsea’s sincerity in her performance tethers the room to the moment and validates all who resonate with her. She is present in ways that feel set apart. Illuminated and drawn out of the darkness by lighting that matches the mood.
The show opened with the title track “The Dark.” The comfortably seated audience became immediately transfixed and followed her into ‘these violet dreams.’ Starting acoustic notes of the song give way to sounds that carry you deeper into it’s own world. Next in the set, “Whispers In The Echo Chamber” and “Iron Moon” painted their heavy reminders from earlier albums into the airwaves.
“Turn The Key” lit the room on fire with its softly powerful vocal tone and heavy guitar punctuated by spookier sounds from the keyboard. The night continued in consistent dedication to showcasing all era’s of the artist. Playing songs “Feral Love,” “Pale on Pale,” and “Flatlands” brought us back to her roots, while “Death Is Not The End” took us to the edge of a future cliff most treat with trepidation. Chelsea and her band left the stage after delivering the parting gift performance of “16 Psyche” off of her seminal 2017 album Hiss Spun.
